Lives and works in Warsaw, Poland
Magdalena Zych is an artist who works mainly in the medium of oil painting. She is fascinated by biology, corporeality and discovering what is hidden in the subconscious. Shapes observed in nature, taken out of context and placed in a world of fantasy become an invitation to play with imagination. The paintings encourage us to abandon logic and rationalism in favour of the mysterious and the sensual. For Magdalena Zych, painting is inextricably linked with experiencing nature, towards which the artist wants to be not only an observer but also a participant. In her art, she draws on the language of surrealism and abstraction, seeking intimacy with the surrounding world - an interspecies coexistence.
In 2016, she defended her master's diploma with distinction in the Poster and Editorial Graphics Studio of Prof. Lech Majewski and the Painting Studio of Prof. Paweł Nowak.
She received an honourable mention at the Second Painting Biennale Lublin Spring 2023 and is listed in the Compass of Young Art 2023.
